Medical Training & Supervised Placements

At Clinica Sta. Cecilia in Nerja, we are proud to be a training clinic, offering hands-on, supervised placements for medical students from around the world. We provide medical students and residents with real-world clinical experience in a supportive and educational environment.

English-speaking students from medical schools and hospitals in the US, UK, and throughout Europe have joined us for placements of up to two months, gaining practical exposure to a wide range of medical conditions and treatments. We have also accepted students via Erasmus.

During their time at the clinic, students are:

• Fully supervised by experienced doctors, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care.

• Engaged in structured learning opportunities, including observing consultations, assisting with procedures, and discussing cases with our medical team.

• Exposed to evidence-based medical practice, learning how our doctors diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of urgent and ongoing health conditions.

Our placement programme reflects our commitment to medical education, excellence, and mentorship, helping the next generation of doctors gain confidence, knowledge, and practical skills in a professional clinical setting.

We accept applications throughout the year, though placements maybe limited. Students are encouraged to contact our medical director with their CV.
